Hazel Park, Michigan
General contractor serving Hazel Park
Hazel Park is a smaller city with smaller homes and smaller budgets than some of the other places we work, and we don't treat that as a lesser version of the job. Jason H., a Hazel Park homeowner, is one of our real clients, and the work we did for him was scoped to fit his house and his budget, not padded to look bigger than it needed to be. It's one of the more affordable cities in our service area, and that shows up in how we approach every estimate here, not just the final number.

A city of post-war bungalows
Most of Hazel Park's housing stock went up after World War II: small, single-story bungalows on tight lots, built fast for returning veterans and young families and never meant to be showpieces. That's not a knock. It means the projects we take on here are usually about function, not square footage: a bathroom that finally works for a family instead of one person at a time, a kitchen that stops fighting you every time you open the oven door, a basement that adds real living space without adding a second story.
Honest budgets, not upsells
We're not going to quote a Hazel Park kitchen remodel the same way we'd quote one in Troy, and we're not going to pad the scope with finishes nobody asked for just to hit a bigger number. A lot of our Hazel Park clients are working with a defined budget, and our job is to tell you honestly what that budget buys: full replacement versus refresh, new cabinets versus refaced ones, and where the money actually changes how the room functions versus where it's just cosmetic.

Jason H. hired us for work on his Hazel Park home, and his review is published under his own name alongside our other real clients. We'd rather have five honest reviews from real people than fifty that can't be traced back to an actual homeowner.
What the inspection background catches on a smaller, older house
Post-war Hazel Park bungalows are old enough that plumbing, wiring, and roofing are frequently original or close to it, same as in Royal Oak, just on a smaller footprint. Mike checks all of it before pricing the job, because on a tighter budget, an unplanned electrical or plumbing surprise mid-project isn't just an inconvenience. It can be the difference between finishing the job as planned and having to cut scope halfway through.
What we won't talk you into
We're not going to recommend a full second-story addition on a street of single-story bungalows, or a kitchen finish package that costs more than the house is worth on the block. That's not us being cautious, it's us being honest about what actually makes sense for a Hazel Park property. When a bigger project does make sense, like a family that's outgrown a two-bedroom bungalow, we'll say so. When a smaller, well-executed remodel is the better call, we'll say that instead, even if it's a smaller job for us.
A single full bathroom is common in these houses too, same as in a lot of Royal Oak's older stock, and it's one of the more frequent calls we get here: a family that's added kids or aging parents to the household and needs a second bathroom, not a bigger kitchen. Where that fits usually depends on whether there's a basement to build into or a closet and hallway combination upstairs worth reclaiming, and we walk that with you honestly before pricing either direction. Whatever direction you go, you'll get one crew and one point of contact from the first walkthrough to the final punch list, not a rotating cast of subcontractors you're meeting for the first time on demo day.

Questions from Hazel Park homeowners
Do you take on smaller projects, or is Hazel Park too small a job for you?
We take on projects scaled to the house and the homeowner's actual needs, which in Hazel Park often means a single-room remodel or a basement finish rather than a full addition. Jason H.'s project is a real example of that.
How do you keep a Hazel Park remodel within a tighter budget?
We tell you upfront what your budget actually buys, whether that's full cabinet replacement or refacing, new tile or a simpler surround, and where spending more actually changes how the room works versus where it's just cosmetic. No padded scope, no upsell you didn't ask for.
My Hazel Park bungalow is from the 1950s. What should I expect once you open it up?
Original or near-original wiring and plumbing are common at this age, same as in a lot of our older-housing-stock cities. Mike checks for it during the inspection walkthrough before pricing the job, so it's accounted for in the estimate instead of becoming a mid-project surprise that blows the budget.
What permits does a basement finish need in Hazel Park?
Egress windows, electrical, and any added plumbing all require permits through the city, and we handle the filing and inspections as part of the project. A basement finish is one of the more common ways Hazel Park homeowners add real living space without touching the roofline.
Will you push us toward a bigger project than we actually asked for?
No. If your budget supports a smaller, honest scope, that's what we'll quote. We'd rather do the job you actually need at a price that's real than sell you on more than your house or your budget calls for.
